Sisters & Tattoos

My amazing sister, Kelly, came to visit me here in Fort Myers a little over a month ago. It was a quick two-night stay, but we had an awesome time together.  We went to Fort Myers Beach and had lunch and drinks at one of my favorite spots, Nemo's, with my friends, Liz and Emily.

We tried out a new sushi place, DaRuma. We had a fantastic night! We were there for about 4 hours just catching up and having a great time. It was even like we had our own personal piano player. We came back to my condo and skyped with our Dad in Germany.

The next day we did some shopping in the area. That night we went out for drinks and dinner with my friends, Liz and Melissa at Miller Ale House.

After dinner, we did something tha I have NEVER done before...we both got little tattoos on our wrists. I had been telling her how I wanted something little that had to do with Will and I.  I got our initials intertwined on my wrist. I was so nervous...just because I was afraid they were going to mess up. It turned out great and I love it!

After we got our tattoos we decided we needed some pizza and drinks. We went to my favorite local bar, Boulevard Tavern. Where we celebrated getting tattoos together!

Even though it was short, we had a great time! Thank you, Kelly for coming to visit me. You are such an amazing person and I'm so happy to call you my sister and best friend. I miss you always and love you!

There is a Fracture...

I've been contemplating starting a blog since I moved to Florida and I always enjoy reading my parent's, sister's, and friends' blogs.  I never got around to it because I was so busy with my first two semesters of didactics. I started full-time in the operating room this week and I am finding that I have a little more time to myself. I'm sure things will get busy in a few weeks once classes start again, but I'm very excited about finally doing this!

Some of you may be wondering what's up with the title of my blog, There is a Fracture. There are actually two reasons, which basically sum up my life right now. First, the video below is a hilarious portrayal of what it is like to be an anesthesia provider.  I actually watched this video for the first time in nursing school.  Though not totally accurate it is still pretty funny!

Second, I feel like the title, There is a Fracture, kind of explains the separation I constantly feel from my life back in Texas.  Many of you probably know that I have currently been living away from my husband and two dogs for almost 8 months.  It has been extremely hard being away from my home, Wilburn, Nova, Windsor, and all of my friends. Not to mention, I have never lived more than 2 hours from my parents and they currently live in Weilerbach, Germany.

It took me forever to come up with a title and I feel like it encompasses the current state in my life. I'm excited about sharing my life a little bit with all of my loved ones. Thanks for visiting!
